The roots of the department of commerce date back to the year 1981, when it laid foundation for its much sought-after course in commerce (B.Com). The department incessantly works towards the objective of preparing students to deal with the challenges of academics, industry and society. The faculty members with specialisation in multiple areas of discipline (such as finance, human resource management, marketing, taxation, audit, etc) continuously strike to provide a rich learning environment to the students.
From time to time department of commerce has been conducting various conferences, workshop and seminar to motivate the students and enhance their skill. Currently the intake capacity of the department is 256 students.
Vision:
Equip the students with sound theoretical knowledge and application skills to excel in their career. Inculcate societal values, provide opportunities, shape overall personality and prepare them to meet the challenges of the emerging “Knowledge Society”.
Mission:
To impart globally competent knowledge for graduates of Commerce discipline students along with:
- Effective business communication through reading, writing, speaking and listening.
- Creative and innovative ability to resolving problems and making effective business decisions.
- Knowledge of computational skills on a level compatible with Industry demand.
- To work in groups and lead the teams when required.
- Impart professional’s code of ethics, a sense of social responsibility, good habits and a positive attitude.
