Blood Donation Camp, Awareness Programmes

The NSS was started in our college in the year...... with the prime objective of serving mankind. N.S.S. has instilled in students a greater awareness of life's truths and a deeper grasp of society's challenges.  Ever since, the service it is rendering has been more than commendable.

A grievance is a formal complaint made by any student about any inconvenience at the college. The committee encourages students to communicate their concerns about academic, non-academic, and other issues openly and honestly, without fear of being victimised.

Scope:

  • Improvement of academic standards.
  • Upliftment of infrastructure.
  • Establishment of cordial relationship between Management, Staff, Faculty and Students

Objectives:

The purpose of Grievance Redressal Committee is to ensure a speedy response and accountability of all concermed to the students of the college. The committee aims,

  • to provide an environment in which grievances can be addressed without fear of being victimised.
  • To maintain an organised, well-defined, and transparent grievance redressal process.
  • to encourage friendly relationships between students, students and teachers, and students and non-teaching personnel.
  • to guarantee that complaints are swiftly, impartially, sensitively, and in strict confidence addressed.

As per the order of Supreme Court of India and subsequent Notification from University Grants Commission (UGC), ragging constitutes one or more of any intention by any student or group of students on:

  1. Any act of Indiscipline, Teasing or Handling with Rudeness.
  2. Any act that Prevents, Disrupts the Regular Academic Activity.
  3. Any activity which is likely to cause Annoyance, hardship, Psychological Harm or creates Fear or Apprehension.
  4. Any Act of Financial Extortion or Forceful Expenditure.
  5. Any Act of Physical Abuse causing Assault, Harm or danger to Health.
  6. Any Act of abuse by spoken words, emails, SMS or public insult etc.
  7. Any Act of injury or infringement of the fundamental right to the human dignity.
  8. Any Act of Wrongful Confinement, Kidnapping, molesting or committing unnatural offences, use of criminal forces, trespass or intimidation.
  9. Any unlawful assembly or conspiracy to ragging.

Punishment to those found guilty

Any student or group of students found guilty of ragging in the campus or even outside the campus shall be liable to one or more of the following punishments

  1. Debarring from appearing in any seasonal test / University Examination
  2. Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges
  3. Withdrawing scholarships and other benefits
  4. Suspension from the college for a period of one month

Objectives of Anti Ragging Committee

Anti-Ragging Committee will be the Supervisory and Advisory Committee in preserving a Culture of Ragging Free Environment in the college Campus. The Anti-Ragging Squad- office bearers will work under the Supervision of Anti Ragging Committee and to engage in the works of checking places like Hostels,  Canteens, Classrooms and other places of student congregation. Anti-Ragging Committee will be involved in designing strategies and action plan for curbing the Menace of Ragging in the college by adopting array of activities.

Responsibilities of Anti Ragging Squad

Anti-Ragging Squad will be working under the Monitoring of Anti Ragging Committee and will seek advice from the Anti-Ragging Committee. The functions of Anti-Ragging Squad will be to keep a vigil and stop the incidences of Ragging, if any, happening / reported in the places of Student aggregation including, Classrooms, Canteens, Grounds, Hostels etc. The Squad will also educate the students at large by adopting various means about the menace of Ragging and related Punishments there to. A gamut of positive reinforcement activities are adopted by Anti-Ragging Squad for orienting students and moulding their personality for a better cause. They shall work in Consonance and Guidance of Anti Ragging Committee.

Mo College programme aims to design emotionally invested platforms thus connecting the rich Odia Alumni Diaspora in the world & create building blocks for development. In lines with the invincible power of the 5T Action plan of Honourable Chief Minister of Odisha, Sj. Naveen Patnaik, the success of this program will be the outcome of productive technological intervention, integrated team effort & transparent processes that would be rolled out within a targeted timeline so as to unveil to the world, the larger canvas of transformation. For proper implementation of this unique endeavour, Mo College Abhijan Parichalana Sangathan (MCAPS) has been registered as a society under the aegis of the Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of Odisha.

The Placement Cell of College is a largely student-driven, professional body incorporated for facilitating recruitment of best minds by global corporate. The College has a vigilant ‘Placement Cell’, which arranges campus interviews, guest lectures and career counselling sessions to help the student to explore job opportunities in different industries through campus recruitment. Career guidance is provided to the students about various facets of interview techniques. Experts in the field of career counselling are invited to provide guidelines to aspiring job seekers. The college Placement Cell takes the responsibility of placing the students in reputed companies. All willing students are offered Pre-placement training and made employable. When recruiters visit the college for campus placements, the Placement Cell uses this opportunity to find out about the market trends and corporate expectations. Feedback on the performance of our graduates is taken from their employers, so as to assess and address the gaps that need to be filled in order to optimize students’ employability.

The discipline committee is to create awareness against and prevent any ill incidents taking place in the college campus. The duty of the committee is to ensure compliance with the provisions of UGC Regulations on curbing the Menace and Indiscipline behaviour in the campus and to develop machinery to regulate the behaviour of student.

Objectives:

  1. To ensure calm and peaceful academic atmosphere in the college campus.
  2. To avoid physical confrontation among students.
  3. To conduct enquiries on report of in disciplinary activities among students.
  4. To initiate model actions against students involved in in disciplinary activities.
  5. To initiate steps to reduce violence, confrontation in future.
